
Hussain Raissi
Dr Hussain Raissi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Te Ao o Rongomaraeroa | National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Otago, and serves as a Research Advisor with Nationality for All, contributing to regional research and advocacy on statelessness and inclusive citizenship. His academic work explores migration, belonging, and identity among Muslim youth in Aotearoa New Zealand, with broader expertise in social cohesion and refugee inclusion. He is a member of the Impacted Persons Advisory Group for the Statelessness and Dignified Citizenship Coalition – Asia Pacific, offering lived experience insights to policy dialogues. Hussain holds a PhD in Migration Studies and has contributed to national studies on Muslim diversity, social integration, and discrimination. He brings multilingual fluency and cross-cultural experience from previous work in France, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
