Statelessness and Dignified Citizenship Coalition Asia Pacific (SDCC-AP)
A coalition of Civil Society Organizations and Activists working on the right to nationality and statelessness in the Asia Pacific region.
There are more than 15 million stateless people worldwide with the largest proportion, forty percent, in the Asia-Pacific. Statelessness is prevalent in all countries in the region, with growing numbers of new vulnerable populations being denied citizenship and associated rights. The main causes of statelessness in the Asia-Pacific region — nationality laws, policies, and practices that discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, and religion — are challenges that can and must be addressed.
