Membership
Membership details are currently being discussed by the Steering Committee members so currently the Coalition is not taking new members. The only members right now are the Founding Members. However, the basic membership criteria and categories have already been decided.
There will be two kinds of membership of the Coalition – Institutional Membership and Individual Membership.
Institutional Members
These include organizations and institutions working in the field of statelessness and/or nationality rights in the Asia Pacific region. The following institutions are eligible to become institutional members:
- Civil society organizations (registered or unregistered)
- Research and academic institutions
- Informal or loose networks/groups/collectives
- Media organizations
UN organizations, governments, or inter-governmental bodies are not eligible to become institutional members.
The organization needs to appoint only one representative to participate in the Coalition’s work and meetings. The organization may appoint a proxy in case the representative is not able to attend any meetings or participate in any events organized by SDCC.
Founding Members
The CSO representatives who attended the in-person consultation in Bangkok and Kathmandu, and who attended the subsequent online meetings of the Coalition formation process, are recognized as the Founding Members. The Founding Members of SDCC are automatically members of SDCC-AP as either individual or institutional members. The initial Advisory Group members are also recognized as the founding members.
