All working groups engaged in separate discussions and convened for general meetings with all the Founding members. During the second meeting on July 27, 2023, the Coalition formally adopted the name “Statelessness and Dignified Citizenship Coalition – Asia Pacific (SDCC-AP).” It was also decided that NFA would hold the Secretariat position for the coalition’s first tenure of the new leadership body.

During the General Meeting held on January 29, 2024, the structure of SDCC-AP was finalized. It was decided that the Coalition would have a Steering Committee, an Advisory Committee, four Working Groups, and the Secretariat. Discussion on the nomination process for the Steering Committee, composed of seven members, including two with lived experience, were held in the same meeting. The nomination process was conducted online, with forms disseminated on February 1, 2024.

The inaugural Steering Committee members were confirmed on February 15, 2024.

Meetings of the Working Groups

1. Name, Value, and Principle Working Group
   
   Members of the Working Group: Ali Johar, Khalid Hussain, Maalini Ramalo, Tahera Hasan, Kritagya Rai, and Hannah Gordon
   
   The first meeting of the Working Group took place on May 25, 2023. The outcome of this meeting was shortlisting 3 names that were selected in the in-person CSO consultation held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The second meeting was held on July 19, 2023. In this meeting, the working group decided to propose the name, “Coalition of Statelessness and Dignified Citizenship (CSDC). On June 22, 2023, the name of the coalition was discussed and adopted and the name “Statelessness and Dignified Citizenship Coalition – Asia Pacific” (SDCC – AP) was adopted.
2. Structure Working Group
   
   Members of the Working Group: Dechen Lama, Bina Ramananda, Sabin Shrestha, Azizbek Ashurov, Atika Yuwanita Paraswaty, Naomi Ariela Syifa, Kritagya Rai, Grant Mitchell, and Victor Karunan The first meeting of the working group took place on June 1, 2023, with the second meeting taking place on June 7, 2023. The third meeting took place on June 21, 2023. Two more meetings took place on July 27, 2023, and on August 8, 2023. The SWG discussed the various components of SDCC and then discussed the composition, criteria, and responsibilities of each of the components of SDCC. After the five meetings, the Secretariat was requested to provide further information and propose the Coalition structure based on the meetings’ conversations. On January 29, 2024 in the general meeting of the SDCC, the final discussion on structure was discussed and adopted by the coalition, followed by the nomination/selection of the inaugural steering committee.
3. Activities Working Group
   
   Members of the activities working group: Neha Gurung, Rizka Rachmah, Rattanak Ly, Htai Than, Marianne Carmel B. Agunoy, Anjuman Ara Begum, Fatima Yasmin Bokharu, Shuchi Purohit, and Aashish Yadav
   
   The first meeting took place on May 25, 2023. The second meeting was held on June 16, 2023. After the discussion on the meetings and the general meetings of the coalition, the Activities working group made a list of possible activities of the Coalition for the Secretariat to choose from. On July 22, 2023 the third meeting was held of the working group where the working group discussed the comments of the secretariat on the list of activities.
