In Loving Memory of
– Founding Member, SDCC-AP

Ravi was not just a human rights advocate, he was a force of truth and conscience. Through his leadership at the Development and Justice Initiative (DAJI), he dedicated his life to standing with the stateless, refugees, and displaced communities across India. He was a tireless ally who showed up not just in meetings or reports, but on the ground, in courtrooms, at borders, in shelters, and wherever dignity and justice were under threat.

Ravi was fierce in his critique of governments and systems that perpetuated exclusion, and he never shied away from speaking truth to power. His voice was sharp, principled, and unwavering and gave strength to many who felt silenced. In his outspokenness, others found courage. In his clarity, others found direction.

His role in the formation of SDCC-AP was foundational. Ravi helped shape the Coalition not only through his expertise, but through his values insisting that solidarity must be lived, that advocacy must be grounded in community realities, and that dignity is non-negotiable.

For so many, Ravi was a guardian who was always available, always present, always ready to stand beside those facing statelessness and injustice. His compassion was as fierce as his politics, and his life was a testament to what it means to fight for a world where everyone belongs.

We extend our deepest condolences to Ravi’s family, friends, and the many communities who mourn his loss. His legacy will continue to guide our work and inspire our struggle.

Rest in power, Ravi Hemadri. You lit the path, we will carry the torch.
